I Received my new computer a couple of weeks ago, and am still working on bookmarking all of my favorite websites. For a while there my Sims2 games wouldn't work right and so we had to switch the monitor over to analog but then everything on the screen was huge and the game didn't look right, I couldn't even see most of the decorations on the webpages such as my pretty layout on my space page! It was so frustrating that I was practically in tears every day while trying to figure it out. My husband then realized that he forgot to install the monitor driver so now it all works on the digital display just fine. Yay!
Last Friday we attended my husbands office Christmas party. It was a lot of fun! The office had gotten everybody that attended a room at the hotel, I guess it was because there was a lot of drinking and I am sure the office didn't want the responsibility of having one of their employees get a DUI! I found out that we were staying in a resort motel and as we approached the place I saw that it was humongous... you could not miss it for it stuck out like a sore thumb. Inside on the main floor was a "mini--mall" that had lots of clothing stores including a gift shop on one side and on the other was a big welcome area are with the check-in aisles (looked like the lobby in that movie Home Alone 2). It also had a big fountain/waterfall and a little bar where you could order drinks while you waited for your party to show up and they had a sports bar by the elevators. They also had another set of elevators that take you all the way to the top floor (which they called the Tower) and the elevators were one of those you could watch and see through (a big window), we went up it after the dinner was some of the other office people . My husband doesn't really like heights but I do not mind them so as we were going up I was standing as close as I could to the window and Chuck was over by the elevator doors, but since it was dark (like around eight o'clock at night) I couldn't see much besides my own reflection... and I do not like my reflection at all! But I do know that we were not as far up as we were at the Sears Tower. Upstairs was another bar, since I do not drink I thought it would be boring but it was a lot of fun being able to laugh at the drunk people!
I finally finished up my Christmas shopping Sunday. I do need to go back tomorrow and pick up a birthday bag for my nieces gift. Chuck hasn't done his Christmas shopping yet (well for me, I am the one that takes care of the shopping for everyone else) so I am hoping that he doesn't take advantage of Saturday and have me pick out something I want for Christmas. I hate it when he does that because I like to be surprised for Christmas and besides he has known me for 10+ years so he should know me by now. We do not have our Christmas tree up yet and we probably won't have one at all this year. My husband is such a Scrooge and it gets worse every year specially for me because I like Christmas and I am so far away from my family... it's so depressing when he acts so uninterested. My nephew came over Monday night and he said he would put up our tree, Chuck went downstairs to get our tree and he couldn't find the decorations that go on the tree like the lights, the tinsel, and the bulbs. I kept asking him to at least put it up last weekend especially since he told Maggie and his dad that he would put it up that weekend but he wouldn't do it. It isn't a major deal that we are missing everything that goes on the tree, but some of those hanging decorations are nonreplaceable and have a sentimental value!
